MEU TOMATI

The promotional program “Meu Tomatì – Campanha de promoçao de tomates italianos de qualidade” is presented within the framework of the AGRIP SIMPLE program, whose overall objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of the EU agricultural sector.

The project is promoted by the OI Pomodoro da Industria Bacino Centro Sud Italia, an interregional Interprofessional Organization that integrates agricultural tomato production with industrial processing, for the territories of central and southern Italy. The target market chosen is Brazil, where the promotion will be implemented in the three-year period 2023/2026.

In January 2023 the IO selected the EXECUTION ORGANISM to implement the activities, Euroconsult, together with Dario Rota & Partners, Icones and the OTIM, participated by winning the tender.

Activities managed by Euroconsult, the lead partner of the ATS formed ad hoc to manage the project, began in March 2023.

TARGETS

The objectives set by the project are specifically to.

  • to improve the degree of notoriety of tomatoes for processing in southern Italy;
  • increase the consumption of tomatoes from the Italian industry;
  • increase the market share of tomatoes for industry from Central South Italy in the regions of Southeast Brazil;
  • increase export sales destined for Brazil.

ACTIONS

In order to achieve the above objectives, an integrated communication and promotion program will be developed targeting the media, industry professionals and also consumers:

  • CREATION OF A WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA (INSTAGRAM- FACEBOOK – YOUTUBE – TIK TOK);
  • SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES;
  • COMMUNICATION TOOLS AND MATERIALS (Brochures, cookbook, shopping bags or backpacks, media kit – folder, notepad and greeting card – gadgets, flyers, menu/event press, roll-ups, gift boxes for each contest winner c/o gdo, posters, totems, promotional video);
  • PARTICIPATION IN NO. 4 FAIR EVENTS, OF WHICH NO. 2 EDITIONS APAS SHOW (https://apasshow.com/en/ Annual fair dedicated to products and services for supermarkets. The last edition recorded 840 exhibitors from 22 countries and more than 58 thousand visitors representing about 11 thousand companies) AND NO. 2 ANUFOOD EDITIONS (https://www.anufoodbrazil.com.br/en/ Anufood Brazil is the Brazilian version of the German counterpart fair specializing exclusively in food and beverages. Organized in Brazil by Koelnmesse);
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS ACTIVITIES (Drafting press releases, Set up multimedia digital archive, Press Events);
  • ORGANIZATION OF PROMOTIONAL EVENTS (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Curitiba)
    • Seminars with operators, importers, buyers in the food sector.
    • Weeks in restaurants with dedicated products and menus
    • Incoming of a total of 30 Brazilian operators to Italy.
  • PROMOTION ACTIVITIES AT POINTS OF SALE (No. 8 promotions at Brazilian retail stores and organization of a competition with prizes-giveaways aimed at consumers in retail stores.
